Small Craft Building

Tisha has a consistent track record of new building, conversion and modification of ships for over three decades. The MV- Sea- Bay 1, MV-Sea-Bay 2 and MT Mecofaith are some of the vessels that we have launched in the past. Tisha Ship Management signed an MOU with Government of India in the Sagar Mala project for launching 5 small crafts under the Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass). We have our own ship building yard suitable for building small crafts at Munambam, Kerala. In 2023, we have launched the Oil Products Tanker, MT-PRISHA, built exclusively in our ship building yard. In 2024, we are converting a small container vessel, the MV- Great Sea Vembanad to a product oil tanker. Our other prestigious projects are the new building of a 1000 DWT tanker for carrying aviation fuel and two oil tankers of 2500/3000 DWT in the upcoming years for our own use.

The Planning Commission of India lists “Shipbuilding and Ship Repair” as one of the key sectors of strategic importance in the “Manufacturing Plan – Strategies for Accelerating Growth of Manufacturing in India in the 12th Five Year Plan and Beyond”. The ‘Make in India’ gives prominence to the growth of the shipbuilding and ship repair industry in India because of its higher multiplier effects on investment and turnover, high employment potential and strategic importance.

With the opening of the Indian economy, there is a tremendous growth in cargo traffic handled at Indian ports. The demand for ships, small crafts, semi-submersibles and port auxiliary vessels, new shipbuilding as well as ship-repair activities are projected to grow in view of the rising cargo traffic from and to India in coming years. Tisha is happy to join hands with Government of India. We are committed to take forward shipbuilding and repairs as our major business enterprise.
